Come face to face with one of the ocean’s most powerful predators on a full day shark cage diving trip from Cape Town. We travel along the coast to the small fishing village of Gansbaai, where you’ll board a boat bound for Shark Alley and lower yourself into the water for an encounter few people ever get to experience.
Time: 12 hours
Tour Days: Mon – Sun
Pickup: Cape Town and surrounds

Tour Description
Your day begins with an early pickup and a scenic drive over Sir Lowry's Pass, through the mountains and charming seaside towns of the Overberg, before arriving in Gansbaai. Snacks and refreshments are served on arrival, and you'll then meet the expert skippers and crew who will take you out to sea.
A 20 minute boat ride brings you to Shark Alley, the narrow channel between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock, roughly 8km (5 miles) off the coast. Geyser Rock is home to tens of thousands of Cape fur seals, which is exactly what draws sharks into these waters. The area is world famous as one of the best places on earth to see the Great White shark, and you may also encounter bronze whaler (copper) sharks, which are now regularly spotted here.
Once at the dive site, you'll climb into a sturdy cage secured to the side of the boat. No diving experience or certification is needed, as you stay at the surface and simply duck under when a shark approaches. The cage keeps you completely safe while giving you an unforgettable, eye to eye view of these remarkable animals. Our experienced crew and onboard videographer will help you make the most of every sighting and capture the moment on film.
Not keen on getting wet? The upper viewing deck offers excellent 360 degree views and is often the best spot for photographs. Keep an eye out for seals, African penguins, dolphins and, in season, southern right whales. The full boat trip lasts between 2 and 3 hours, and safety comes first throughout.
Back on shore, you can view and purchase footage of your dive before relaxing over a delicious lunch overlooking the bay. We then make the return journey to Cape Town.
