Tour Description
The Cape Town city tour begins with pickup from your accommodation, before heading into the city center and setting off on foot past some of Cape Town's most historic landmarks. The Castle of Good Hope, built in 1666, was constructed to defend the earliest Dutch settlement, while the nearby Company's Garden was established in 1652 to grow fresh fruit and vegetables for passing ships, and remains one of the city's most peaceful green spaces. Along the way, the tour also passes the Houses of Parliament, with your guide sharing the stories of the country's past and how it became what it is today.
Winding on through Cape Town's historic streets, the tour takes in beautiful architecture and heritage buildings, before arriving at the lively Greenmarket Square. Surrounded by historic buildings, this vibrant square is home to a craft market, cafés, and restaurants, a perfect place to browse for souvenirs to take home.
The tour then drives through the Malay Quarter, famous for its brightly colored heritage houses that still stand today, and a fascinating window into the Cape's rich cultural history.
After a day full of South Africa's culture and history, the tour returns to your drop off point, leaving you with a deeper understanding of this remarkable land.
