The &Beyond Ngala Safari Lodge is one of the most exclusive private concessions in the Kruger national Park. Ngala private game reserve not only houses a magnificent five star safari lodge, but also offers some of the worlds best big five wildlife experiences. Ngala private game reserve has exclusive traversing rights on 14 700 hectares of land, offering guests a wilderness to explore with world class night and day off-road game drives, bush-walks – close-up wildlife encounters featuring elephant, buffalo, rhino, lion, leopard, spotted hyena, giraffe and more.
Ngala Safari Lodge offers an abundance of wildlife experiences including night game drives, bush-walks, photographic safari and exciting family safaris. For the romantics Ngala Safari Lodge offers an enchanting treehouse sleep-out experience. Here you will sleep out in the wild, under the stars, an ideal experience for Honeymoons or lovers alike.
Ngala Safari Lodge boasts house boasts 20 Classic thatched cottages. Family Cottages have inter-leading rooms, and the spacious Family Suite offers a superior experience with 2 bedrooms and a private pool. The lodges wrap around swimming pool and sundeck leads into the wild with views over a remarkable setting and regularly visited by a variety of wildlife. Ngala Safari Lodge is a haven for bird watchers and ideal location to view game at any time of the day. Dinners are best described as an African feast and are set in the in the open-air boma or the candlelit courtyard. Ngala Safari Lodge is a haven of luxury with warm African hospitality and an exceptional welcoming atmosphere.

Wildlife
- High concentration of Big 5 with large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as large lion prides.
- Other wildlife include but are not limited to the hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, cheetah, African wild dog, hyaena, warthog and many other cat and antelope species.
- Large antelope herds support the populations of predators in the reserve.
- Over 500 bird species have been recorded in the region. Many can be seen in the reserve.
Game Drives
- Game drives take place twice a day in the early mornings and afternoons for a duration of 3-4 hours.
- Game drives are led by an experienced guide and tracker team.
- Vehicles are allowed to go off road to track and follow the wildlife.
- Strict traverse rules are in place and vehicle numbers are limited in each reserve. A maximum of two vehicles are allowed at any sighting.
- Night drives and guided bushwalks are permitted.

Location
- Located in the western region of the Greater Kruger and borders the Kruger National Park, Klaserie Game Reserve, Umbabat Game Reserve and Thornybush Game Reserve.
- The Kruger National Park is almost 2 million hectares and lies in the north-eastern corner of South Africa in the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces.
Getting There
- Ngala private airstrip is the closet airstrip, two daily chartered flights from Johannesburg are operated by Federal Airlines.
- Hoedspruit (HDS) is the closet commercial airport to Ngala Safari Lodge, daily flights operate from Johannesburg and Cape Town.
- Flight time from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit or private airstrip: 60 minutes.
- Flight time from Cape Town to Hoedspruit: 2 hours 30 minutes.
- Road transfers from Hoedspruit to Ngala Safari Lodge take 2 hours.
Child Policy
- Ngala Safari Lodge welcomes children of all ages.
- Children under 6 years are not permitted on game drives unless a private vehicle is hired.
- Children 0– 5 sharing with 1 or 2 adults stay complimentary.
- Children 6 – 16 sharing with 1 or 2 adults, pay 50% of the adult rate.
- Children 6 – 16 years in their own room – 1st child: adult rate, 2nd & 3rd child: 50% of adult rate.
Inclusions & Exclusions
- Included: 2 x Game drives per day, guided bush walks, all meals, soft drinks, selected alcoholic beverages, and private airstrip transfers.
- Excluded: Premium branded drinks, conservation levies, commercial airport transfers, and anything of personal nature.
